Get to know Chef John

 

Welcome to Chef’n with John. I’m John—chef, caterer, and baker—passionate about creating thoughtful, homemade food that brings people together.

My culinary journey began in south-central Minnesota, where I first discovered my love for cooking through culinary competitions in my local FFA chapter. After high school, I attended Great Plains Culinary Institute and earned my degree in Culinary Arts and Food Service/Hospitality.

Shortly after, my wife and I took a leap of faith and moved to Maine. Over the next fifteen years, I worked as an Executive Chef in some of the finest restaurants along the Maine coast, refining my craft and deepening my passion for the culinary industry. After welcoming our two children, we returned to our Midwestern roots to raise our family closer to home.

At Chef’n with John, every dish is prepared with care, quality ingredients, and a deep appreciation for the experience food creates. Whether it’s an intimate dinner, catered event, or handcrafted dessert, my goal is simple—to create food that feels both special and genuinely homemade.
